- חִיזְרָר(חִיזְרָד) חוּזְ׳ m. (cmp. חַזְרָר) medlar (Mespilus Azarolus, v. Löw Pfl., p. 288, a. Sm. Ant. s. v. Mespile), being considered homogeneous to quincy. (In Mish. a. Babyl. dialect (עוּזְרָד) עוּזְרָר, but different from חַזְרָר. Y.Kil.I, 27a תפוחע״ג חיזרד; (Tosef. ib. I, 3 אוּזְרָד).Pl. חוּזְרָרִין. Y.Sabb.III, 5d קטנים כח׳ boiled down to the size of medlars; (Bab. ib. 38a עוזרדין; Y.Ter.II, 41c bot., v. חַזְרָר).
